what-lands-in-slack
Every Shopify event, translated
Notipus subscribes to the Shopify order and customer topics that matter and turns each one into a readable alert — no raw webhook JSON.
| Shopify event | What your team sees |
|---|---|
orders/create | New order, with items and total |
orders/paid | Payment received — repeat buyers and milestones are called out |
orders/cancelled | Order cancelled, with the customer’s history attached |
orders/fulfilled | Order fulfilled and on its way |
fulfillments/create / fulfillments/update | Fulfillment progress with the real carrier status (In Transit, Out for Delivery) |
shipment_status: delivered | Order delivered — confirmed by the carrier |
customers/create | New customer, enriched with company background |
customers/update | Customer detail changes worth knowing about |
Every alert is enriched with company background, contact name and role, and email domain badges — and duplicate events are consolidated into one message. Because Shopify sends lifetime spend with its webhooks, alerts also carry lifetime value, VIP status, and at-risk flags.

faq
Common questions
- Do I get notified when an order is actually delivered?
- Yes. When the carrier reports delivery, Notipus posts an “Order delivered” alert. This works for tracking companies Shopify recognizes — UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, and others — with no extra setup for already-connected stores.
- How is this different from Shopify’s built-in Slack notifications?
- Notipus adds who the customer is: company background, order history, lifetime value, and milestone callouts for repeat buyers — and consolidates related events so one order doesn’t ping the channel five times.
- Do I need to set up webhooks in the Shopify admin?
- No. Connecting via OAuth subscribes Notipus to the right webhook topics automatically, and every delivery is verified with Shopify’s HMAC signature.
- Does it work alongside a Stripe or Maxio subscription business?
- Yes — connect multiple providers to the same workspace and Notipus cross-references customers across them, including Shopify order references in Maxio transaction memos.
- What does it cost?
- There’s a free plan (20 events/month), and paid plans from $29/month with a 14-day trial. See pricing.
